We only work with suppliers of the highest standards who share the same philosophy of excellence, and demonstrate this in their service. Batchelar Fine and Rare Wine was founded by Luke Batchelar. Luke is a New Zealander with over 15 years international experience in strategy, sales, marketing and commercial initiatives within the global drinks industry.Luke’s passion for wine has taken him to the far flung corners of France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Portugal not to mention stints in the USA and South Africa. Luke has detailed knowledge of European wine and the trade, along with great a great understanding and expertise in the local Australasian market,with particular expertise in New Zealand wines and the more covetable "Cult" Australian collectables.
To complement the business and practical experience, Luke holds the Diploma in Wines and Spirits from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) based in London, the rigour of this course elevating him beyond "enthusiastic amateur" status. Luke now heads up the operations in both New Zealand and Australia spliting time between the two countries to ensure the highest standards of service are delivered to our valued clients.
