93 Points. "The 2004 Chardonnay "Art Series" was aged for 18 months in 100% new oak with no malolactic fermentation. It offers a classic Puligny aromatic profile of mineral, butterscotch, white peach, spiced apple, and poached pear. This leads to a streamlined Chardonnay with its oak totally integrated, ripe, elegant flavors, outstanding depth and concentration, and a long, pure finish. It will evolve for 2-3 years and drink well for up to a decade as a recent taste of the 1987 (92 points) demonstrates." Wine Advocate # 173,Oct 2007

“I'm often asked how the latest Leeuwin stacks up against previous greats. Well, let's put it this way;I have always rated the '95 as the greatest, just a smidge ahead of the '87 with maybe the '01 a close-run third. But after tasting the '05, I have to say that time may well prove it to be the greatest Leeuwin Chardonnay yet. Here is elegance, power, finesse and complexity rolled into a wine with all the texture, palate feel, flavour and presence of the greatest chardonnays in the world. There are many Aussie and French chardonnays selling for a lot more, so this is a steal. If you have even a passing interest in Chardonnay, this is a must buy." Ray Jordan, The West Magazine, The West Australian, 16/02/2008

Elegant, refined, almost delicate at first, then the flavors kick in, sending in wave upon wave of melon, quince, citrus and a wee touch of hazelnut. The flavors persist against judicious acidity. Drink now through 2012. 200 cases made

Mike Peterkin continues to stamp class and longevity all over his finest wine. Whilst the earlier vintages of Pierro Chardonnay were notable for their impressive richness and concentration, Peterkin has successfully sought a finer, purer expression of fruit which he has deftly married with oak and underpinned by a superbly textured chassis of chalky minerality. A classic. Rating: 97/100, - Jeremy Oliver's 2007 Wine of the Year Finalist, Top 10 Chardonnays

Pale Straw, Gently fragrant with spicy oak and floral notes. The palate is crammed tight with opulent white peach, nectarine and subtle leesy flavours. Characteristic creamy texture of a Pierro Chardonnay yet it is tightly structured and coiled around taut racy acidity. It will start to be at its best mid 2008 and will continue to mature gracefully for another 3 years.

2007 Tapanappa Tiers Chardonnay is a very typical wine of the Tiers Vineyard in a good vintage. The aromas are subtle varietal white peach and clove, with marzipan and brioche contributed by the malo-lactic, yeast lees contact and oak. A consistent terroir feature of Tiers Chardonnay is the significant texture followed by a savoury finish and the persistence of the flavours. The 2007 Tapanappa Tiers Chardonnay will develop spicy honey and brulée characters with bottle age of up to 10 years.
