Prieure Roch, Chambertain Clos de Beze, 1999 (6 bottles at $771 per bottle)
92 Points. "Inky black with cherry cough syrup nose that is dominated today by new wood. Thankfully, there is plenty of underlying material that may be up to the task of absorbing it over time though I suspect that the oak will always a major component of the flavor profile. The tannins are ultra refined, almost silky in texture for a young Clos de Bčze with rich, velvety and very long flavors of considerable distinction. This would be better without quite so much oak but even so, there is so much wine here that it manages to carry it, at least for today." Burghound 2001.

"Aromatic, showing green olive, sandalwood and floral notes, with sweet cherry, plum and spice flavors. This opulent, exotic red is balanced and long, with a refreshing finish. Enjoyable now, but will be better in a year or so. Best from 2008 through 2018. 725 cases made". Wine Spectator 2007.

89 Points. This is almost a hypothetical blend of the Lavičres and the Marchais, combining the density and mid-palate concentration of the former with the robust, muscular, structured quality of the latter. Complex, dense, direct, rustic and honest with plenty of grip and length and this too will require patience before it will be at its best. Burghound 2003.
