For the rare and limited Enotheque collection, Dom Perignon winemakers reserve a small portion of wine from the finest vintage years and age on the lees in the cellars for up to 50 years, until time brings out its deepest, most coveted qualities. Its secret lies in the exceptional duration of the wine’s aging. This extra time allows each Dom Pérignon vintage to surpass itself, enabling it to eventually join Dom Pérignon Œnothèque. The 1998 vintage has all the inimitable traits of Dom Perignon Rose. It has the lightheartedness, vivacity and vibrancy of the Pinot Noir grape while still maintaining the balance between the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that is unique to the Dom Perignon style. Color: Coppery pink with light orange highlights. On the nose: The aroma of malt rapidly leads into that of well-ripened fruit, nectarine and wild strawberries, complemented by smoky, peaty accents. On the palate: In a paradox that typifies the vintage, concentration and movement vie each other with an affirmation of boldness and authority. The tastes progress with strength-tense, radiant and sharp. The finish is firm, underscored with a slightly vanilla-spicy note.

Dom Ruinart, the visionary spirit of the oldest champagne House, was the inspiration for this exceptional cuvée. It is a rare expression from the most noble of Chardonnay, a magical experience, a genuine feast for the senses. A blend of 84% Chardonnay and 16% Pinot Noir grapes. A rosy, predominantly pink-gold colour, with slightly amber and copper highlights… The 1996 wine boasts beautiful clarity and remarkable brilliance. Its extremely fine bubbles produce abundant effervescence. As the ambient warmth develops, initial fruity and delicate notes lead to a bouquet that gradually unleashes a sensation of opulence. However, the combined effect is one of elegant finesse and wonderful presence, promising great ageing potential. The complexity and potential found on the nose are also revealed in the mouth, with an attractive balance of berry fruit, liquorice and citrus notes. The highly vertical palate has great length and excellent persistence.

Delicate and floral, with citrus blossom, apple and ginger notes. Nicely balanced, picking up some textural detail on the finish. An appealing fresh style on the palate Ideal as an aperitif. Many Champagne houses would like to lay claim to the accolade of being the longest established house, but only one may do so in truth. And that house is Ruinart, a business established in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart. The Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs was first released with the 1959 vintage. This is Grand Cru Chardonnay, a large proportion of which originates from the Montagne de Reims; Avize, Cramant, Chouilly, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Sillery and Verzenay. These villages impart a great depth and presence on the palate, and an ability to age well.
