It is a rare expression from the most noble of Chardonnay, a magical experience, a genuine feast for the senses. A blend of 84% Chardonnay and 16% Pinot Noir grapes. A rosy, predominantly pink-gold colour, with slightly amber and copper highlights… The 1996 wine boasts beautiful clarity and remarkable brilliance. Its extremely fine bubbles produce abundant effervescence. As the ambient warmth develops, initial fruity and delicate notes lead to a bouquet that gradually unleashes a sensation of opulence. However, the combined effect is one of elegant finesse and wonderful presence, promising great ageing potential. The complexity and potential found on the nose are also revealed in the mouth, with an attractive balance of berry fruit, liquorice and citrus notes. The highly vertical palate has great length and excellent persistence.
